GE IC697CPM915 CPU Module

Operational Control and Programming Interface
The IC697CPM915 offers versatile programming pathways, supporting
standard SNP port connections or high-speed Ethernet-based uploads,
the latter of which requires the integration of an optional
Ethernet communication module. Control of the CPU's execution state
is managed either via a physical RUN/STOP toggle switch located on
the module faceplate or remotely through a programmer interfaced
with the RS-422/RS-485 serial port. This dual-layer interface
allows for robust field maintenance and remote system monitoring
while ensuring secure control over automated industrial sequences.
Memory Architecture and System Expansion
The module is equipped with 1 Megabyte of user memory, supplemented
by non-volatile flash memory for the storage of system firmware.
Data integrity during power-loss events is preserved by a
module-mounted lithium battery, providing a nominal memory
retention period of six months. Power consumption is rated at a
nominal 2.8 Amps across the 5V DC bus. To support large-scale
automation, the IC697CPM915 integrates seamlessly with a wide array
of expansion hardware, including IC697 LAN modules, specialized
coprocessors, and bus controllers designed for IC660, IC661, and
the broader IC697 family of discrete and analog I/O modules.

Installation Procedure
- Connect the battery to either of the battery connectors on the
module
- Set the toggle switch to the STOP position
- Set the keyswitch to Memory Protection OFF
- Ensure rack power is off
- Install the CPM915 module in Slot 1 of Rack 0
- Turn on power
The module will power up and the top LED will blink. When
diagnostics complete successfully:
- Top LED stays on
- Second and third LEDs are off
- Fourth LED is off if the keyswitch is in the OFF position
The CPU is now ready to be programmed. (If connected in parallel,
programming is possible regardless of keyswitch position.) After
verifying the program, move the toggle switch to the appropriate
operation mode. The LEDs indicate toggle switch position, memory
protection status, and program state.

Global Sourcing Solutions
The industrial world is full of niche and "unknown" brands that
larger distributors ignore. At Amikon Limited, we believe every
